Swan Farm Foodbank Garden – October 2019

Volunteers: 8 regular

Highlights:
-harvest Wed. will bring all winter squash in-bumper crop of butternut/napa cabbage/lettuce/celery

-also harvested seed crops of scarlet runner beans, peas, sunflowers -won’t have much more until early spring
-have in ground purple sprouting broccoli/fava bean/peas/cover crop -don’t have anything in gh since no irrigation in

-have winterized all irrigation/mulched
-plan a work party this Wed. after to finish sheet mulching/cover cropping/planting garlic -have a good base of 8 volunteers, including our hardworking neighbors’ kids Colten and Ben
